V35 Beechcraft Bonanza - Here's How You Can Tell If This Beechcraft Is Right For Your Situation..
One of the most notable classic airplanes around most big airports is the Beechcraft Bonanza V35 or a variation of this airplane. They are very noticeable and you can see them from quite away's away. This great airplane was a natural evolution from the Beechcraft brand and is somewhat of an extension of the S35 that was produced.
SIDENOTE: The V35 has three primary models within it & you have to make sure you get the right one for you. There is the V35, V35A & the V35B... Because the V35B was in production from 1970 to 1982, you will likely find more of them for sale then the other versions. They did offer a turbo charged version as well, but those were not as popular.
Here's 2 Things You Should Know Before Buying A V35 Bonanza...
First - You Have To Make Sure You Decide On The Regular Or The Turbo Version...
But if you are looking for a turbo V35, you are going to have to make sure you be patient and get the right one when it comes on the market. As far as performance goes, the V35B is going to cruise at around 170 knots with a 285 horsepower engine in it & the turbo version will cruise at around 200 knots (depending on altitude).
So, 30 knots of extra cruise speed is quite a bit... Not only that, you can go higher and get above the weather in some cases. But the downside is that your range goes from a bit over 700 nm with the non-turbo to around 580 nm with the turbo. So you are going to have to make sure you factor that into your thoughts.
Second - You Have To Realize That This Is A Roomy Four Seater...
Some of the V35's on the market right now have 5 or 6 seats in them. That is fine and you can get away with that, but you are going to really cut into your useable weight if you take six people in this airplane. And you know what that means - less fuel & a shorter range.
So make sure really think about the other options out there if you are looking for a true six seater. Beechcraft has some great 6 seaters on the market! But if you are looking for a roomy four seater or even a five seater in a pinch, this is a great airplane. With 4 seats, you are going to have a lot of cargo room & a great cargo door to use as well.
IMPORTANT - All in all this is a great airplane that is still quite popular and there seems to be somewhat of a strong used market. You might think that is bad when you are looking to buy one, but just remember that someday you might want to sell yours or upgrade. And your going to be glad that there is hopefully a strong market so you can maximize the amount of money you get when you sell.... (-:
