Tecnam 2002 – This is a great 2 seater low wing aircraft! Here's Why...
If you have been around general aviation for any length of time you probably know of the manufacture Tecnam. They have been around for a while and have produced a number of great airplanes. One of those is the Tecnam P2002. This is a great looking 2 seater light sport aircraft that is a low wing.
Being a low wing makes it attractable to a lot of people because of the fact that there are not a lot of low wing light sport aircrafts (LSA's) on the market. And a lot of pilots like to fly low wing airplanes for various reasons..
IMPORTANT: If you are into high wing airplanes and are sold on getting a Tecnam, you should have a look at the P2006T. It is a high wing twin engine 4 seater that is produced by this company. It's a great little 4 seater that gives you the safety features of having that second engine.
Here's 2 Things You Might Like About The Tecnam P2002
Light Sport Aircraft...
#1 - It Is A Low Wing LSA...
I got my private licence on a low wing airplane a number of years ago and really grew to like flying a low wing airplane. If you have never flown in one, you should do a test flight on one as you might really like it!
Also, the reason that you might like the Tecnam 2002 is because it is a low wing. The reason that is important is because they have different flight characteristics when it comes to landings & take offs. I have found that it is a lot easier to land a low wing airplane in a big cross wind then it is to land a high wing airplane.
Not only that - I like the visibility you get out of a low wing airplane. Your probably going to find that with the Tecnam 2002, it is great visibility due to all the glass and the way the cockpit is designed. So, your going to have no problem seeing things.
#2 - It Has Really Great Performance Specs Including Fuel Burn...
If you are looking at getting into a smaller single engine airplane like an LSA, the one benefit you are going to have is the fact that the fuel burn is going to be less then if you were getting a big 30 year old high powered single engine airplane.
With the Tecnam P2002, your probably going to burn around 5 gph while you are flying. That is not a lot of fuel when you compare it to other older and larger single engine airplanes. Not only that, it is powered by a Rotax engine.
The great thing about that is Rotax has been building high performance engines for really, really long time! So getting parts and getting it fixed should not be a big issue in most countries.
