Piper Warrior - What You Need To Know Before You Think About Buying This Airplane...

Piper Cherokee Warrior - A Great First Airplane To Own...

If you are looking for a Piper aircraft that you can fly for personal recreation, you have to realize that you are going to have a lot to choose from. That is a good thing and a bad thing all at the same time. The sheer fact that you have so many to choose from can keep you from making a choice on which airplane you want because you don’t want to buy the wrong one.

SIDENOTE: There are actually 3 versions of this great aircraft. There is the Cherokee Warrior which has 150 horsepower, the Warrior II which has 160 horsepower & the Warrior III which also has 160 horsepower and was also certified in 1994.

This is a really nice airplane if you are into flying low wing airplanes. They have been around since 1973 and are still quite popular to this very day.

That is why I want to show you what you need to know about buying the Piper Cherokee Warrior! This is a great aircraft and if you are in the market for a 4 seater and like the Piper models, you are going to want to think about getting this one.

Here Is 2 Things You Need To Know About The
Piper Cherokee Warrior:

First - It Has A Great Range:

With this aircraft you are going to be able to have a maximum range of about 625 nautical miles. That is a significant distance if you are only using this aircraft for recreational use. The base model Cherokee 140 only has a range of about 480 nautical miles.

So you have to realize that when you get a Warrior, you’re going to be able to go on some very long trips! Not only that, if you want to take some extra weight, you can as you are going to have a 48 gallon fuel capacity to work with.

If you fly long distances, that extra range makes a massive difference.. Nobody likes to stop all the time to simply fill up with fuel. That is a very time consuming thing if you are having to go into major centers to buy your fuel in route. Not only that, you usually have to go out of your way to find an airport which takes more time and fuel. Then you have to takeoff again which uses a lot of fuel as well.

So when you think about it - there are a lot of benefits to having that extra range available to you...

Second - It Can Haul Roughly 980 Pounds Of Useable Weight.

You have to realize that you are going to have quite a bit of weight to work with considering the Warrior is a four seater airplane. You have to realize that if you are only flying with a couple people, you are still going to have lots of room for fuel and a few bags.

IMPORTANT: If you fill the Warrior full of fuel which is 48 gallons, you are going to take up about 288 pounds (roughly). That still leaves you with about 690 pounds to work with in terms of people & baggage weight. (Which is very good!)

So if you don't take any baggage you are still going to be able to fly with four people who all weigh about 170 pounds. That is pretty good for a 4 seater airplane! Of course you always want to verify the numbers with the POH or aircraft manual as these are estimated numbers.

All in all, the Warrior is a great aircraft that you should think about owning. The base model will cruise at about 110 knots and as mentioned, has a range of about 625 nautical miles.

So make sure you think about this airplane when you are out looking for one to buy.
