Piper Comanchee - What You Need To Know About Owning This Piper Work Horse...

Piper Comanchee - A Closer Look At This Classic Piper Aircraft...

When it comes to getting a four seater aircraft that you can fly around, you have a lot of options! But if you are looking for a higher performance four seater that will get you to where you want to go, you’re going to want to consider buying a Piper Arrow.

When it comes to getting a high powered Piper four seater you are going to want to make sure you think about looking at the Piper Comanchee. Over 4,000 of these aircraft were built from 1957 to 1972 and there are still a lot in the air today.

They have been around for over 50 years now & there is still a good demand for them on the used market.

In this article I want to show you what you need to know about this airplane so you can know if it is the right one for you to buy.

#1 - The Comanchee 260 Has A Great Cruise Speed...

If you are looking for a Comanchee that will get you where you want to go fast, you are going to want to make sure you look at the 260. It will cruise at about 158 knots & has a range of over 600 nautical miles.

That is pretty good for a 4 seater of that era! Sure you could look at the 400 horsepower Comanchee, but you have to realize that you are going to spend a lot more in fuel and you are not going to increase your speed by all that much.

The 400 can cruise at about 185 knots, but it has 140 more horsepower then the 260 version of this aircraft. That is quite a difference in horsepower and not a lot of difference in speed.

So you have to make sure you balance out the power and the speed so you can get the best of both worlds! Not only that, your going to burn a massive amount of fuel if you buy the 400!

#2 - The Comanchee Is Priced Very Well On The Used Airplane Market...

What you are going to find is that you can probably get a used Comanchee for a great price considering the speed & performance you get along with it. You will probably find that you are going to spend around half of what you would spend if you were going to buy a Cessna 182 or something similar.

Even though they are a bit older then some of the other competing models, they still look great, are fast & you can still get a good deal on them.
