Piper Cherokee 180 - The Amazing Benefits
Of Owning This Airplane...

Piper Cherokee 180 - Here Are 2 BIG Benefits To Getting This Aircraft...

If you are looking for a good four seater to fly around in, you are really going to want to make sure you test out the Piper Cherokee 180. It has been around since the early 1960’s and is still a very popular & highly regarded airplane for its class.

In this article I want to show you the 2 big benefits to owning this airplane verses getting the Cherokee 140 or 160.

Benefit #1 To Owning The 180: You Are Going To Have More Carrying Capacity!

The great thing about the 180 is the fact that you can technically haul four people. The 140 & the 160 are four seaters in most cases, but you are going to have a hard time hauling around four people, fuel and some luggage.

But with the 180, you are not going to have as hard of a time making this happen. You have to realize that you are going to have about 1150 pounds of useable weight with this model compared to about 900 pounds with the 140.

Having 250 pounds (roughly) of extra useable weight is a really big deal when you are flying a smaller plane. That means you are going to have a lot more options on what you can do when you want to go somewhere. You can take more fuel and less people or you can take more people and not as much fuel but still be able to have somewhat of a good range.

Benefit #2 - To Owning The 180: You Are Going To Be Able To Go Faster & Further:

The 180 will cruise at about 125 to 130 knots & the 140 will cruise at about 115 knots. That means you are going to get about a 10%+ increase in speed when you upgrade to the 180.

That might not seem like a lot of extra speed, but because you are going to have more useable weight, you can not only cruise faster but you are also going to be able to go further due to the fact that you have more usable weight to allocate to fuel.

So you have to realize that on the outside, these two airplanes don’t look all that different, but the 180 has a clear advantage & you need to make sure you consider it when looking to buy one that is for sale.
