Want To Buy A Mooney Bravo That Is For Sale? Here's What You Need To Know...
Mooney is very well known for making really fast single engine airplanes. They have been doing it for a long time and are quite good at it. The Mooney M20M Bravo is no exception. This 4 seater single engine Mooney is one of the fastest production 4 seater's you can buy! To say it is fast is an understatement.. It can actually blow by many smaller twin engine airplanes!
SIDENOTE: When you are looking to buy a Mooney, you are going to want to make sure you actually "test fly" a few different versions. Their spec's are amazing for the most part, but because there are so many different Mooney models, you are going to want to make sure you "test fly" a few of them!
Not only is the Bravo a very fast Mooney, it is also a nice looking one as well! Some people don't like the looks of most of the Mooney single engine airplanes, but the Bravo has a very nice styling to it.
Here's 2 Reasons Why You Should Consider Buying
the Mooney M20M Bravo...
Reason #1 - It Is One Of The Fastest Single Engine Airplanes Ever Produced...
Depending on who you talk to or where you look for your numbers, some will say that it is the fastest single engine airplane ever produced. The bottom line is that it is truly in a league of its own with very few competitors when it comes to raw speed and power.
The interesting thing about the Bravo is that when you think about it, the engine is not all that big! Sure it has a 270-HP Lycoming TIO-540-AF1A in it. But if you look at some of the other single engine airplanes on the market, they have around the same size engines.
If you compare the Bravo to a 6 seater, your going to find that some of the bigger ones have 300-HP engines or bigger. So yes, the 270-HP engine that the Mooney has is big, but it is not overly large when you compare it to other airplanes.
But the speed that Mooney can get out of it is absolutely incredible! You are going to find that this Mooney will cruise at around 220 knots up at altitude. It also has a rate of clime of about 1,050 feet per minute.
Reason #2 - It Is Still Very Reasonably Priced...
When you think about the speed and power you are getting out of this 4 seater, you have to realize that it is actually very reasonably priced. Sure if you buy a newer one you are going to pay around $250,000 USD. That would likely get you into one that was produced around the year 2000. But if you want to get an older one, you should be able to get into an early 90's model for around $150,000 to $200,000.
IMPORTANT: You have to make sure you are careful when you purchase one of these as you have to make sure you pay for the right things. Don't overpay for one because it has a great looking dash with ton's of digital avionics. You have to make sure you focus on getting one with a great engine & low time on the airframe.
If you are simply looking for a really fast 4 seater, you are going to want to think about the Bravo... If you compare it to other aircraft out there you are going to find that for the speed you are getting with this airplane, there is really not a lot of other airplanes that compare to it!
