Light Sport Aircraft For Sale - Make Sure You Do These Things When Buying An LSA That Is For Sale...
One of the best things that has happened to flying in the last number of decades is the rise of the Light Sport Aircraft movement. Being able to fly an LSA has given many pilots the opportunity to own an airplane that they otherwise would have never been able to own.
But the problem is you have to find the right one. And at any given time, there are A LOT of Light Sport Aircraft for sale on the market... And you don't want to buy the wrong one or you'll end up having to waste a massive amount of time trying to get rid of it so you can get another one...
Here's 2 Things You Need To Do Before You Buy A Light Sport Aircraft That Is For Sale
First - Make Sure You Don't Buy Based On The "Coolness" Of The Airplane:
The one thing that LSA manufactures have been able to do is make some very cool looking airplanes. The reason is because technology and engineering has advanced so much in the last 3 decades that they can create some pretty nice looking airplanes.
And that is part of the problem... It can be very easy to get into the trap of buying an LSA based on the fact that you like the looks and think it is a cool airplane. Essentially - falling in love with it!
You obviously want to buy an airplane that you like and think looks good, but make sure you focus on the core fundamentals of the airplane. Make sure it has the range you are looking for, the performance specs you need & make sure you get a good deal.
After that - then you can think about the looks and decide if you want to buy the thing or not.
Second - Make Sure You Can Get It Fixed At Your Location:
There are quite a few smaller manufactures in the LSA market and you are going to want to make sure that you can actually get the airplane fixed near your home location. If you buy some exotic LSA and can only get it repaired 2,000 miles away - your not going to be very happy.
So, call around to the local aircraft mechanics and see if any of them have experience on the model you are looking to buy. The other thing you are also going to want to do is make sure you can get parts for it as well. The aircraft mechanic should be able to tell you this if they have experience fixing it.
There are a LOT of good Light Sport Aircraft's for sale on the market, but you have to make sure you get the one that is going to be right for your personal situation. If you - then you should have years of fun flying ahead of you.
